Dead; deceased.
"The villain tried to unalive the hero, but failed spectacularly."
Often used as a verb (“to unalive”) or adjective (“is unalive”). It originated as a euphemism in online spaces to avoid censorship, demonetization, or triggering content filters on social media platforms. While sometimes used humorously or ironically, it can also appear in serious discussions about death or self-harm.
A slang term, especially common in Gen Z internet culture, used to avoid saying dead or killed directly. It’s often used on platforms like TikTok, YouTube, or Discord to bypass moderation filters that block or demonetize explicit language about death or suicide.
Formed by adding the English negative prefix un- (“not”) to alive (“living”). The construction literally means “not alive.”
