Ge·zell·ig

Pleasantly sociable and friendly.

Fond of the company of others; friendly

Concerning the gathering together of people for the purposes of recreation or amusement

Originally derived from Middle-Dutch 'gesellich,' equivalent to gezel + -ig. Cognate with the German term 'gesellig.' Gezellig is an untranslatable word in Dutch. It comes from the term 'gezel' (companion). Gezellig's 'literal' meaning is cozy, quaint, or nice; sown together with an underpinning of togetherness.
